Logo Design The Creative Process





In the present business world, it is mandatory for an organization to have a sound logo design. Survival of a business is subjected to the strength of its identity in the industry. If your products are well recognized among your target audience, and they feel comfortable using them then it's difficult for a competitor to succeed your existence in the market.

Logo design is a business tool with enormous benefits. Three paramount responsibilities of a logo include creating identity, promoting the organization or brand and communication with the target audience. In order to perform all these tasks, logo should be designed with utmost creativity and professionalism.

Each and every feature of the logo design should speak about the nature of the organization and its work processes. Although, logo is defined as a graphical illustration but it isn't a simple kind of image. It is a representation of an organization; therefore, the graphical illustration must be able to explain and define the attributes of the organization.

Creating a simple image or painting a still life is an art but if that image has some embedded meaning then it becomes a piece of creativity. This approach requires lot of research and firm thoughts. Thus, the process of logo designing should be carried out in a streamlined manner, one step after the other.

The first step of this creative process of logo designing is to research the needs and demands of your industry and your target customers. This helps in evaluating the expectations of the customers from your organization or from a certain product. After researching your industry, you should evaluate your own products or services and try to find out their unique feature that can help you stand out from your competitors. Once, you are able to figure out this unique feature of your organization or your products then embed this feature creatively in your logo.

This approach will add meaning to your logo design; in fact, it will make it easier for your target audience to understand the nature of your business. Logos, which relate closely to the business nature of an organization, also help in its marketing or promotion. The meaningful logos also act as a source of communication between the organization and its target audience.

In order to embed the unique feature of the organization in its logo, the designer should come up with a unique idea. It should be a meaningful graphical illustration. Start by sketching the idea and then examine it three to four times in light of the demands of the industry and your customers. Your logo design should be creative but it shouldn't be complex or difficult to understand. Your target audience should get the whole idea of the logo in just a glimpse. A logo only gets four to five seconds to grab the attention of the target customer; thus, it should be simple and easy to understand.

Logo design can provide an organization with enormous benefits provided it fulfills the demands of its industry and its target audience.
