Enjoy the Splendours of Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu is a place that is chock full of culture and tradition. The subtle tones of peace and serenity that you find in the country-sides of Tamil Nadu are unmatched. Don’t believe it? Go ahead and book one of the many Tamil Nadu tour packages and visit the hill stations of Ooty or Kodaikanal. There are the usual beauties that you find, like lakes and boating trips and picnic spots. But each has a special personal touch of its own. For example – Ooty tourism is never complete unless you take home with you a generous sample of homemade chocolates. Once you’ve had your chocolate fix, take the time to stroll down the tiny rustic lanes that you find amidst the tea gardens. Or you can enjoy the beauties of nature in the Botanical and the Rose gardens and connect with nature at your own pace. But if Ooty has its homemade chocolates to tempt you, then Kodaikanal has its own attractions. Where else, after all, can you find yourself standing above clouds – with a halo around your head?

This isn’t an experience you want to miss when you’re a part of Kodaikanal tourism. The phenomenon is called the Brocken Spectre, and due to a clever play of light, you can find your shadow splayed out on the clouds! But if you want to peer beyond the clouds, then you can visit the Solar Physical Observatory in Kodaikanal and enjoy a glimpse of stars and constellations. If you would rather raise your eyes to the heavens in pursuit of religion rather than science, you want to make your way to Tirupati. Drawing millions from all over the globe, Tirupati tourism is the highlight of Tamil Nadu’s religious tours. The most famous temple here is the Venkateshwara temple, with the presiding Lord Balaji. The charming tradition of offering your hair in a display of your respect is optional, but certainly something you want to indulge in. The town of Tirupati is dotted with other temples like Kapileshwar Swami temple, Kondandarama Swami temple, and the Padmavati temple in Tiruchanur.

If all you want is to spend time relaxing and have some peace and quiet by the sea side – then head to Pondicherry. You can enjoy the serenity you crave in the Aurobindo Ashram. Auroville, which stands in hope of building understanding amongst one another, will bring to your soul some much needed calm. And what better way to spend your evenings, than walking along the beaches of Pondicherry? For those interested, there are churches and temples included in Pondicherry tourism, which is increasingly a core part of Tamil Nadu tourism.
