Grow Taller in Five Simple Ways

Does your lack of height cause you discomfort? Do you feel awkward wearing flat sandals knowing that it emphasize your short height? Are you unable to gain entrance to a profession you seek because your height does not meet the standards required? It certainly can be embarrassing to be deprived of things you badly want, simply because of your stature. For some reason over many years, height has became a defining factor in judging one's position in society. Taller people get better opportunities. Are you sick and tired of this fact? Then why don't you make a change by enhancing your height?

Increasing one's height is easier during our growing stage. Men aged 25 years and above, together with women aged 21 years and above, need to be assessed differently, as they have already exceeded their growing years. Let us first look at the different ways to help the body gain height during its growth period.

1) One way is to ask your doctor for a safe and effective multi-vitamins supplement to take every morning. Some of the nutrients in this supplement will help the body's systems to function more efficiently. The remaining nutrients are also helpful in aiding the body to grow bigger and taller.

2) Milk can also be a great help to increase your height. Drink the recommended amount of milk, about 3 times per day -- during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Drinking too much milk at one time will make no sense as your body will not absorb all the extra nutrients; they will only pass through the body.

3) Make sure to get enough sleep. Children aged from 10 to 15 should get 10 hours of sleep. Teenagers 15 to 20 years old however, should get 9 hours of sleep every day. Adults aged 20 to 25 years old should get 8 hours of sleep. One guiding point that you should follow is to sleep before 12 in the morning.

4) You can also grow taller by participating in sports. Basketball is a good example of a sport that can help increase your height. Any sport that involves reaching to anything high can help trigger your growth. Basketball, as the example, involves dunking the ball into a basket set in a high position on a wall, thus requiring the player to stretch up. You can also be motivated to gain height by playing with taller teammates or opponents. Psychologically, you will be influenced to work hard and improve your height because you want to gain the same advantage that they are perceived to have.

5) Performing stretching exercises is also a good way to help you grow taller. Hanging crunches, lat pull down, pull ups, hanging leg raises, lower back extensions, and chin ups are each an ideal form of stretching exercises. Do this kind of exercise 2 to 3 times every week and you will notice your height slowly increasing due to stretched tendons, bones, and muscles.

These are only some of the ways that you can grow taller. Why not try these simple ways first and then progress to the more physical methods later? This will allow you to see some early results more quickly and will certainly make you feel better about yourself.
