Puppy Training Puppy Pitfalls to Avoid

When it comes to raising a puppy itís a tough business. You have to be prepared mentally and emotionally to be able to handle all of the incidents to come. Itís a very rewarding thing just as well because if you ever feel like you have accomplished something then this is something to be proud of. Although itís pretty hard to raise a puppy there are so many rewards. When you come home and he comes running to you wagging his tail and as excited as ever to see you, it gives you a feeling of love and happiness inside. This is a dog that loves you and that want to spend time with you and play with you as much as he can. With that in mind donít you think it is your duty to make sure that he grows up as best as he can and with all kinds of love and support? This can be such a difficult task but with the right effort and consistency it is possible to do all sorts of things with him or her. Unfortunately there are a lot of pitfalls when raising a puppy because most of the mistakes that people make, they donít seem to realize they are doing it. Itís a tough pill to swallow but it is an effort that needs to be made.

There are pitfalls to many situations and by far the most popular one is pure laziness. This is something that has nothing to do with the puppy himself because he is bursting with so much energy it would almost be impossible for him to become lazy. The laziness comes straight from the owner and it comes from many different ways. For example, being lazy when it comes to practicing training is a terrible downfall. Not only will it impede the effort that you put forward to train him in whatever you are doing but it also distracts him from really focusing on learning whatever it is that you are trying to teach. There canít be any laziness when it comes to trying to teach your puppy something new because just as something wonít be as fresh in your mind if you donít practice every day the same applies to your puppy.

Another downfall that it seems many people have is getting angry at the puppy for doing something that he isnít supposed to do such as urinate somewhere he isnít supposed to. That isnít something you really have the right to get mad about. He is only a baby and doesnít know any better. You wouldnít get mad at a new born baby for peeing in the diaper he is wearing would you? That same logic applies here but the main difference is that your puppy isnít wearing a diaper.

There are many pitfalls when raising a puppy but they are all easy to navigate around when you take an active and logical approach to raising your new puppy. Once you do everything will start to fall into place.
