Blocks and counters are among the trademark toys of Montessori set up. If you go to a Montessori school, you will see that most of their activities are using blocks and counters. This helps the child develop their cognitive skills especially in terms of their creativity and construction skills. Always remember that your child should be able to benefit from every activity that he or she does and not only develop one skill but multiple skills.
