What Does Your Judgment Debtor s Ex Partner Know

When you need to recover a judgment, you cannot be too rich, too thin, or learn too much about your debtor. Some judgment creditors forget the most obvious individuals to ask, the ex-spouses or ex-partners of their judgment debtor. This article is my opinion, and not legal advice. Usually, the more you know about your judgment debtor, the more the chances are to get your judgment paid. When enforcing your judgment, don't forget to discover about the debtor is, who are the judgment debtor's ex-spouses or ex-partners. Then, you can learn the way to contact them as part of a judgment discoveries.

The ex-partner or ex-spouse of the judgment debtor might have a gold mine of facts and information which might make it a lot easier to enforce your judgment. Often, the ex-partner or ex-spouse of the debtor will hold a grudge on the debtor, and might agree to share information with you.

For the fact finding part of a judgment enforcement mission, it is often a good idea to contact the judgment debtor's ex or exes to see what you might discover. When you first contact the debtor's ex, it is wise to move carefully and slowly. Without mentioning any details, explain you've got a judgment against the judgment debtor and you're in a real jam. Let them know in a very humble way that you require their help. Most of the time, they know what it's like to be ripped off by their ex.

Most of the time, many may spill their guts, telling you all in the world about your debtor, often more than you want to learn. Some of the information the ex shares may share would be costly, or more hard to discover from other sources. Some of their info might include details which you might not find anywhere else.

Your debtor's ex might know where they work, bank, or maintain other assets. One may learn valuable info on how to find a debtor. If the couple had children, ex-spouses often remain involved in their kid's lives in some way. Because of this, a judgment debtor's ex-spouse will usually have current and valuable facts which can help in your investigation of hints about your judgment debtor's available assets.

When your judgment debtor is paying child support, alimony, or some other funds to their ex, it is a safe bet they will know about the debtor's banking information. Let their ex be the person who brings up the topic of your judgment debtor's bank account.

When you talk with your debtor's ex, tell them what a big help they were to you. Although they will do most of the talking, thank them for listening to the problem with your debtor. Don't overlook the importance of the information from the debtor's ex.
