Organize Clutter With Custom Built Wall Shelves

One way to give your spaces more serenity is with organized shelving. Beautifully put your clutter in order. Using custom-built wall sculptures will save your day. A neat surrounding is a great morale booster. Discover places in your room where function and form will be beneficial to the family, especially a home office.

Subject your desktop to a detailed critical inspection. When paying bills is no fun, then it is time to fix your worktable. On a busy day, scattered papers and missing supplies can get out of hand. Enable yourself time to create your work space. Make the place where you write the checks as fuss-free as possible. Smartly outfit a wall-climbing compartment unit. Custom-made shelves can sit on tabletops anytime.

To make them personal, paint each shelf interior with your favorite color to make the space more inviting. Of course, the color has to be in harmony with the room's over-all appearance. Each shelf should have a specific purpose and the contents easy to distinguish.

Easy-to-grab containers in webbed or translucent plastic allows you to see what is inside. Objects you do not use frequently can be placed on the top shelf. Added attraction is a clear in and out box which does not appear to crowd the desktop unlike colored ones.

A home office should look as professional as a corporate cubicle while at the same time reminding you of home. Home accessories like galvanized metal bins and wicker baskets can store work papers. Galvanized metal bins can substitute for thick and heavy cabinets while the texture of wicker complements the shiny metal bins. A decorative lamplight as a home dеcor fixture adds a soft glow to the room.

In one corner of the home office, you can make an ideal setting for reflection by using built-in shelves and a cozy seat. A store-bought bookcase can create a similar nook. Store photographs, videos, books, cards and stationery together on shelves such as these. One way of keeping in touch with family and friends is by having blank and seasonal greeting cards on hand. Even in this techno-savvy age, it will not hurt you to use these cards once in a while. A decorative box can hold pens, stamps and a list of dates to remember.

Pockets of loose photos can be stored in decorative boxes. Clear plastic drawers hold your digital camera, video camera and other paraphernalia. It is best to remember that too many small and loose pieces look more like a mess. Develop a theme for each shelf, and try to look for colors to tie the scheme together.

Many of you now work at home, and while you may be ready for it, your busy household may not. If you think you do not have space for an office, look again. You can designate a room or part of a room which you can recycle into an efficient work center. With stylish, custom-built wall sculptures, you can create and enjoy your true "work" rooms.

If You Love Beige That Much Go Ahead Indulge Yourself
Beige, bone, sand, tan, khaki, cream, vanilla, camel, wheat - these are shades of the same beige, and they're the most popular color palette among Americans. It might be that Americans as a people simply love neutral colors as they love the iconic apple pie. It might also simply be, as some home decorating experts suspect, because of fear of committing color combination errors, making their choice of beige really a default choice. Some experts like one design guru and TV hostess pin the blame...

You never think about how many shades of color there are until it is time to paint a room or several rooms in your home. Then, as you look through all of the possible selections you find more colors that you know what to do with. The more you examine the color choices, the less certain you are of what color to choose. Far too often people simply look at the paint chips in the store and select their color there. Since colors change in the light, it is a good idea to take a color sample home and...

What to Do With Bulky Furniture
Bulky furniture have always posed tough problems for Do-It-Yourself decorators. Often they're heirloom pieces one doesn't have the heart to leave behind nor sell when moving into a new house. Besides they're often simply captivating-- a Sheraton dining set, a Chippendale armoire dating back to the early 1900s, or maybe a priceless Bobby Haines-- that you simply couldn't part with them. Lugging them in a U-Haul van from Buffalo to New York is one thing, getting them into your 15th-floor New York...

How to Make Your Room Bigger Without Spending Anything
Skeptics might say making the Statue of Liberty exchange places with the Great Wall of China would be easier, but here are seven ways you can actually enlarge your room without spending anything. Tip 1. Realize that everything that you can see is yours to use. If your house is in the Big Sur, the vast ocean as far as you can see is yours to enjoy. It'd such be a big waste if you have a solid, windowless wall on that side of your house. The 1st century Romans understood this concept very well....

How to Have Balance in Your Lighting Fixtures a Zen Master Would Be Proud Of
Although he may not be aware of it, man responds to factory settings that must have been put in place even before time began. For instance, we instinctively know what's beautiful and what's ugly. Without any prior course on formal and informal balance, we sense right away, merely by looking at it, that a piece of art - Barnett Newman's Vir Heroicus Sublimis, for instance, has balance. Now that's incredible because, except for five vertical stripes, Newman's canvas is a blank ocean of red. But,...

Decorative Painting How to Decorate Your Home Like the Pompeians Did With Theirs
It's amazing to find decorative painting dominated by women. Julia, Karen, Dee, Marcia - all women, only four of dozens of others, each proudly showing off incredibly beautiful work samples. Why decorative painting should be the exclusive turf of women (relegating men to being merely house painters) stupefies. If it's any consolation, at least the Great Masters have all been male. Decorative painting is of interest to every DIY decorator for the many exciting possibilities it opens for...
