Ashtanga yoga for the maximum health benefit





Ashtanga yoga is also known as ashtanga vinyasa yoga. It is popularized as modern form of yoga but it is an ancient art and founded and popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois. He had established the first institute to teach this specific form of yoga. He became a leading teacher in this form. And gradually it spread all over the world through the books published by him and the foreign students of guruji. Ashtanga is a Sanskrit word that means ‘eight limbs’. This yoga includes three main things; breathing, bandha and drishti, where bandhas are of two types, the ujjayi and the mula. These parts are also having their therapeutic names which are given on the basis of their effect on body. The first four limbs—yama, niyama, asana and pranayama—are considered external cleansing practices.

It is a complete series that has different and preplanned stages which works as therapy and give the maximum benefit to the practitioner. It is the mixture of the spirituality and the physical therapy.it is began with the sun salutation and several mantras that are used to enchanted while asanas. Surya namaskar is not a simple namaskar, it has a particular pattern that involves several moves likestanding, sitting, lying, and back bending. This is the foremost thing of ashtanga vinyasa and a perfect start. It prepare your body for the further step that is why the next step will only taught after the practitioner become perfect in this.

The next series is an extended form of the primary series as it introduces some new poses and variation that are little difficult and new. This is the intermediate part which is subdivided into four series to make it easy to learn and more accessible to the people. This part is not for the novice or the weak students as it involves very strong postures that can be possible after regular andserious practiceof the primary part of ashtanga yoga. Yoga taught in general is not ashtanga yoga it is just a part of it butit can be an ideal foundation for home practitioners once they know the sequence of poses.This Yoga style is different from many yoga classes in the west in that the order of asanas is completely predefined.

This yoga is full of energy and can be practiced with the help of a teacher or self. it is becoming popular day by day. There are number of programs, books and DVDs in the market with the help of which you can learn this at your home. Daily and regular practice is highly advised to get the maximum out of it but with full care as the asana performed in this can be highly injurious if not done correctly.The high risk of injury from teachers can possibly be attributed to an over-zealous and under-experienced approach. So it is always advised not to learn yoga from an immature person, always go for a trained and well established yoga classes to avoid any risk in future as yoga is for health benefit not o cause harm.
