Losing Body Fat The Right Way

We are blasted with ways to lose body fat everyday. It can be stressful to try and figure out what's true, what works, and what's ineffective and unsafe. Without doing your own research it's almost impossible to get the truth. This article is public knowledge, based on dieting methods, and years of experience by experts, and other people who have successfully reduced their body fat. The most favorable way to lose body fat and maintaine it, is through a mixture of reducing calorie intake, eating correctly, appetite control, and exercise.

The fastest way to reduce body fat is by burning more calories than you consume. This can be done in two ways.

1. This is by keeping your calorie intake below your calorie needs. 2. Raise your exercise levels so your calorie needs raises above your calorie intake.

To lose body fat, it is suggested to eat 20 to 30% less calories than your calorie needs. In order not to shock your metabolism, always change your calorie intake little by little. I suggest to do it in 10% changes, and let your body adapt for at least a week in-between changes.

The weight loss suggested is between 2 to 5 pounds per month to reach maintainable long-term results. When you lose body fat, you will have to decrease your calorie intake to stay below your new daily calorie needs, because your metabolism will slow down while on a calorie restricted diet. Your calorie count should not go below 1200 calories for women, and 1600 calories for men.

When you finally have reached your goal body weight, increase your calories slowly back to your new daily calorie needs. If you do this too fast, you will gain back the weight, and could end up heavier than you were before. Also make sure you're getting enough sleep at night. When you're not sleeping enough, you are more likely to find your hunger will get out of wack, and you will binge on foods you did not want to eat.

Unless you are really naive, you should know by now, that there is not a miracle diet, or a diet pill, that will lose body fat for you. All the commercials you see on TV, in the magazines, and even in the pharmacy only have one thing in mind, and that is taking your money. Like I said at the beginning, the best way to lose body fat is to burn more calories than you consume.
