Meeting Room Tables

There are lots of different shapes and types types of conference room table and much depends upon the size and shape of your boardroom as to which design will be most suitable. There are many factors to consider including the budget available, the size required, how you want the overall room to look and how many will be seated. Boardrooms are used for lots of purposes and are used for not only hosting meetings and conferences but also for holding interviews and for giving presentations, so it is important to think about what your table will be required to do.

When you go shopping for a conference table, there are a great number of things you should consider before you make a final choice. While it is important that you should give the greatest thought to the size and shape of the table, try not to forget that there are other features and additions that will make a great table. Let's take a look at some of the different shapes that are available.

The classic rectangular shaped conference room table is very functional but it is not very original. However, rectangular conference tables are an excellent choice for seating up to 12 delegates. These are the tables that you often see the great power meetings being held around in the movies and in television series.

Round conference tables are very suitable for those rooms that are a bit small and will give the room a feel of spaciousness. These tables will not have the capacity to seat lots of delegates but have the advantage of making small meetings or interviews feel more intimate.

There are oval shaped tables which are a really useful shape, they are neither rectangular nor round so give the best of both worlds. These tables are classically shaped and can give your boardroom that timeless look.

An interestingly shaped table is the boat-shaped conference table. This table has a very unusual style and is a visual focus for the boardroom. The boat-shaped table will be able to seat a large number of people and so will require a decent sized room so as not to make people feel cramped or squashed in the room. If you would like something a little different, a boat-shaped table could be right for your conference room.

Another unusual looking table is the figure of 8 shaped conference table. This type of table is very much a fresh and interesting looking which will make your boardroom look very contemporary. Obviously this type of table requires a large room. One of the benefits is that this sort of table is versatile so that if you have a small number of visitors, it is relatively easy to make them feel included as you can all sit around one round side of the 8.

Modular conference tables are the most versatile of all. These tables come in so many shapes and sizes that you can have anything from the classic rectangular shape to an octagonal to a U-shaped table, in fact, you can have pretty much whatever shape you want. They have the added benefit in that they can be set up to accommodate any number of delegates. The beauty of these tables is that pieces can be added or removed to make the table the right size for the meeting being hosted.

Most conference tables are manufactured from wood, glass, metal or synthetic materials or any combination of those. So whatever style you want, you can be sure that your conference table will fit in well with your existing decor.
