Letís take buying a present for your wifeís Birthday as an example. You may think she is a very practical woman who would only appreciate practical gifts, and you may be right. But what if you are not, and what if she actually would love a wonderful surprise.
Something she really does not need but really wants; something you have chosen especially for her.
Now there are plenty of options to start your thought process, from Pampering to Partying, or Watches to Wellie Warmers.
Here are a few gift ideas for your wife:
A night in can be just as special and romantic as a night out. So you could plan a special evening for when she gets back from work.
Once she gets home you can give her the first gift, I suggest some beauty products for her to pamper herself with in the bath. A particular favourite of mine is the Pamper Box by Willow Organics, or even the Rose Hat Box by Winter in Venice.
While your wife is enjoying that gift you can be preparing a scrumptious meal, (having put the children to bed for her)
A fun gift to open before you meal may be a wine bottle holder. They are great fun to have at the table and make a lovely centre piece, letís face it you might not be very good at flower arranging, so something else on the table might be a good idea. My favourite is the Waiter Wine Bottle Holder.
Now itís time for your main present, and quite frankly you canít go far wrong with a lovely piece of jewellery. I particularly like silver jewellery as it is timeless and classical. It is of course very hard to choose a piece of jewellery for a lady, so again this is where silver jewellery comes into its own. Here are some of my favourites available at the moment:
Silver Necklaces Ė Now about a silver and cord pendant a large silver pendant with a black cord weave, hanging on black cord. Very chic. Composition: 925 Sterling Silver, Length: 43cm, Weight: 20g.
Bracelet or Bangles Ė a very good option. Bracelets and bangles are often very good stand along gifts (i.e. if you buy a necklace you might need the matching earrings). There are loads of options here, quite frankly a whole new article just on these, but here are a few ideas: Sweetie Bracelets are seriously on -trend at the moment, and you donít have to pay designer prices Ė she wonít thank you for chucking away your money on designer stuff when she can have two gifts instead!
Classical silver Cuff Bangle will always win you prizes, and here I think simple 925 sterling silver is absolutely stunning.
Earrings Ė I would still stick to my guns here and recommend silver, perhaps with a gold plate, keep it classical and timeless like some silver woven hearts earrings, you canít really go wrongs with hearts.
The other great gift idea for wrists are the European style, or more commonly known by their brands as Pandora or Trollbead style Charm Bracelets. I will definitely be writing about these in more detail in a later piece, but these really are the must have ladies gift. Basically you buy a bracelet and then collect all kinds of different beads which thread onto the bracelet. But please donít be fooled these are not your common or garden plastic beads, no these beads are solid silver, perhaps with gold plate or a precious stone.
To make your jewellery gift even more special you can personalise the box with an engraved plaque, with your own personal message to your wife Ė what a perfect and personal gift for your wife.
Now round the meal off with a little box of chocolates, I maybe a romantic collection in a beautiful heart shaped box, not too much as she may well not thank you if you stuff her full of too much chocolate, she might blame you for not losing those pounds she had been trying to shed!
All in all you should now have had a very pleasant meal, some lovely wine and your wife will have opened some lovely gifts. There is one more suggestion to round off the perfect evening - in, maybe a little romance with a the luxury of a Karma Sutra Bedside Box, full of beautiful, decadent treasures to tempt in a evening of romance. Or perhaps keep it simple with a Bed of Roses Ė a clear message there!
Good luck and happy present hunting!
