Analysis Of Advanced Bookmaking Dutching And Trading Techniques Semi Automated Systems In Conjunction With Bet Angel Part 2

The Bet Angel Team have created an enhanced interface based around technical analysis and market fluctuation strategies. (Day trading).

The enhanced interface includes bots that are based on the most famous and historically successful strategies used by professional gamblers, Bookmaking and Dutching.

Throughout the strategies I make significant use of Ladder Trading.

Ladder Trading is an advanced state of the art GUI interface for day trading and even more advanced than the one click trading provided in Bet Angel Basic. It is incorporated into my strategies to complement the bots as oppose to forming the core structure of the system.

Early bots on the market post 2004 Betfair API release would look for underrounds of less than 100 on the back column and overrounds of more than 100 on the lay side, meaning they could simply back or lay the entire field to a profit.

Naturally this feeding frenzy didn’t last. As more and more bots entered the market the strategy became more competitive and the days of a race market going out to 105% lay column are long gone.

Bet Angel’s Bookmaking Bot is regarded as the ultimate Bookmaking tool in today’s market.

My final Bookmaking Arbitrage and Advanced Dutching strategies incorporated a host of manual procedures and automation to facilitate building profitable positions:

• Solid analysis of the race fundamentals and form (picking the right races and the right horses)

• Manual identification of Weak Favourites that can be “taken on” using an advanced Dutching and a target profit strategy. (field reduction strategies)

• Manual strategies using the Bet Angel bots for configuration of the initial Book or Dutch. (staking methods)

• Technical analysis using charting tools and all the websites and resources available online to gather evidence and identify viable and probable fluctuations in the market

• Asking for and generating margins on your Book or Dutch to achieve viable prices using book arbitrage. (waiting for the market to come to you)

• Bet Angel Automation rules that trigger when the market moves out of line and so opens the “arbitrage window” that facilitates best prices for the Book or Dutch.

• Stop losses, ladder trading, entire market analysis and charting, to correct any liabilities should they exist.

• Saved bets, manual configuration and calculation strategies that enable best practice during in play racing to increase profits or decrease liabilities.

• Automation trigger rules to increase profits or reduce liabilities inplay.

Viable races that meet the fundamental selection criteria happen several times a day.

The Bet Angel API is lightening fast; the client software sits on your workstation and communicates directly with the Betfair server so that when your constructed Book or Dutch is fired into the market via the arbitrage automation rules, all bets are placed instantly.

The pre race technical analysis of prices and charts that you have made in advance to generate a viable margin gives a high likelihood of lay at back prices or back at lay prices being taken shortly afterwards.

And herein lies the key to the success of the Power Trading systems.

Pot protection and liability avoidance pre race are essential to any profitable long term strategy. I outline specifically how to proceed should a price move against you.

Not only that, we can use “frequently seen patterns” from racing history and form analysis to build in specific race selection procedures that further enhance the overall strategy and likelihood of achieving a successful Book or Dutch.

Fundamental form study and high tech computer software meet in my final strategy

“The Flying Dutchman With Weak Favourites”

Reducing the field in such a way and altering target profits with Bet Angel magically generating the entire staking plan is like the meeting of two alien cultures, but the integration is remarkable and the results represent the “jewel” in the Power Trading crown.

There are huge differences in market volatility and predictability with respect to different types of race which is where my analysis of the history of racing and form study enhances the overall profitability of these systems.

As I frequently repeat a general knowledge of racing, and natural instinct CANNOT be automated.

Bet Angel ladder trading allows you to view an entire market pre race to get a full view of liquidity and volatility.

Seeing precisely where the money is like this, how much has been matched and the spread of prices across the entire ladder gives an instant feel for which way a market is going to move and where the resistance levels are.

Bet Angel allows the trader to cancel bets and set stop losses. If a market moves out of line to the lay column and creates an “arbitrage window” then a market correction will take place very rapidly.

While you will be taking advantage of the powerful technical prowess of Bet Angel to fire all your lay bets into the market and make your margin on the Book, the market will simultaneously be moving to close the margin as quickly as it was opened and to do this the prices of some of the horses will be changing rapidly in both directions.

Bad things can and do happen in the ring and Betfair can severely punish unfancied horses within minutes SP’s can double.

This is where stop losses are utterly essential. To be detached and logical are psychological assets that must be present in successful traders.

“Consistency to oneself and ones ego” in psychological parlance is the desire to be proven right once a decision has been made. It is however the fast track to the poor house for an enormous number of Betfair traders.

You have placed a trade in the back or lay column and the principal of “consistency” means that to admit you were wrong, or to admit that the direction of price movement has moved against you is damaging to the consistency of your own ego.

Even though the evidence is plainly in front of you in red in terms of a terminally increasing liability, the average Betfair trader sits there like a rabbit in the headlights.

My strategies incorporate the best of all worlds, race fundamentals, form study, horse selection and technical analysis, combined with automation of potential triggers, arbitrage and liability protection pre race and inplay.

Power Trading, BE The Bookie and the Flying Dutchman use every aspect of the Bet Angel interface to fulfil all the criteria for semi automation and I recommend these systems as highly profitable, consistent and a potential sea-change of the Betfair experience for intermediate and advanced Betfair users.

Semi Automated Systems In Conjunction With Bet Angel Analysis Of Advanced Bookmaking Dutching And Trading Techniques Part 1
A major factor in my development of these systems stemmed from a growing sense that far too many people are losing on Betfair and only a tiny percentage of people are making massive profits. There is a growing feeling that professionals are taking advantage of less successful punters in the same way that Bookies have been doing for decades. My key objective was to develop systematic strategies that would enable the intermediate and advanced punter to dramatically improve their betting...

Lay to Lose on Betfair Gold at the End of the Rainbow Truth and Fiction Part 2
As an example let us assume that our chosen favourite is running in a Novice Hurdle at Kempton and is currently at 3/1 to win on course. Betfair has championed the use of decimal odds in order to enable the market trading style interface that adds so much to its appeal. To calculate the decimal odds for a fractional SP add one to the betting shop SP and then 0.5. Where do we get the extra 0.5? Well part of the beauty of Betfair is that you are not having to pay the bookmakers for the luxury...

Betfair Horse Racing Fundamentals and Bet Angel Technical Analysis Part 2
Lets start with a close examination of some official statistics relating to Betfair. 1. On average, starting prices are between 10 and 15 % higher than with traditional bookmakers. 2. Ten times more people make a profit from gambling on Betfair than they do from gambling with traditional bookmakers. 3. People who do lose overall from gambling on Betfair lose less than they do with traditional bookmakers. 4. Around 90% of people with a registered Betfair account still lose money...

Betfair Trading Part 5 Want A Tip Don t Back Or Lay Trade
In my experience to date, “Trading” is the ONLY way to guarantee long term profitability on the Betting Exchanges. Laying horses to lose is no more profitable than backing them. The effect on profits is akin to backing in reverse. Simply put; the effect of laying is a long winning streak of small wins interspersed with a large loss as oppose to backing which is a long losing streak of small losses interspersed with a large win. Laying horses is relatively new and therefore has a novelty...

Profitable Betfair Strategies Wanna Tip Don t Bet on Horses Trade Dutch Be the Bookmaker Part 1
My experiences on the betting exchanges have resulted in several long considered opinions. The only methods that guarantee long term success are techniques that involve trading, dutching and bookmaking. Methods that employ pure back to win or pure lay to lose strategies can work, but are infinitely more strenuous to operate, and are overexposed to human fragility. Laying to lose, as i detailed in the previous article has proven no more effective than backing to win. As i have outlined...

Betfair Race Trading Pt 4 Laying Backing And Dutching Pots Of Gold Or Pots Of Pain
Laying: A lot of new customers to Betfair are attracted by the prospect of a new style of bet; namely, “Laying”, which is being allowed to back the loser of your chosen sport or event. In relation to horse racing, this is known as “Laying” a horse i.e. Backing it to lose the race. Laying a horse to lose is effectively the direct opposite of backing it to win. It has actually always been possible to do this via a traditional bookmakers by backing every horse in the race to win using a...

Betfair Horse Racing Fundamentals and Bet Angel Technical Analysis Part 1
Whether your market is stocks and shares, horse racing, greyhounds or football, as traders we all share a subset of personality traits that enable us to be successful. The unfortunate reality is that not everyone has the personality make-up required to be successful in this career. Financial trading of any kind demands a certain type of personality and attitude that fulfill the following criteria. A trader must be: * Able to accept substantial losses without self loathing and judgment. *...

Lay to Lose With Betfair Gold at the End of the Rainbow Truth and Fiction Part 1
What is Lay to Lose: Ultimately trading horse races on Betfair is a direct result of the exchanges providing the facility for a new kind of bet, namely the ability to back the loser or losers of any given sport or event as oppose to attempting to find the winner. In terms of horse racing, this facility is known as laying a horse to lose. Just to clear up any confusion, technically speaking, laying is feasible even in a traditional bookmakers setting. One would have to apply a Dutching...

Horse Race Trading Formula Strategies Systems And Success For Betfair Part 1
In any form of financial trading there are two terms which you will first need to fully understand before proceeding to the next stage. The fundamentals of any trading system are the same whether it be stocks and shares, bonds, forex, spread betting or of course the betting exchanges. 1. Liquidity - Cash 2. Volatility - News Lets start with liquidity or cash. 1. Cash is what physically creates/ moves markets. 2. Cash is what physically drives prices up or down, (bullish or bearish). 3. Cash...

Horse Race Trading Formula Strategies Systems And Success For Betfair Part 2
Regardless of platform, all traders will be faced with a series of tough questions, mental debates and challenges on a daily basis. Here are four important questions, one of which will be in any traders head at any given time. 1 If the price of a stock that I hold is still rising I would be foolish to sell when it could go up even further? 2 Should i wait till the stock starts to fall before selling? The price has been rising steadily, it won't crash overnight will it? 3 If the...
