In 2004, the film âÄúLife with Steve ZissouâÄĚ, directed by Wes Anderson, was released. The movie, which starred Bill Murray and featured Portuguese versions of David Bowie songs, became iconic for its wardrobe. Aqua blue crew uniform shirts, red beanies and the most memorable of all, Adidas sneakers. The shoes were produced solely for the film and was never actually released to the publicâĦuntil now.
The Zissou has a blue, yellow and white colorway. The leather upper is white, while the accents are blue and yellow. ThereâÄôs a gray toe cap to add some neutral color and a gold foil branding for the âÄėZissouâÄô name. The regular shoes cost around $100, while the special edition ones can take you back as much as $225. But thatâÄôs okay, you wonâÄôt just be using shoes, youâÄôll be wearing a part of movie history.
Unfortunately, only 100 shoes were produced. So, yeah, you need to be really fast and clever to get a pair.
Besides the Zissou, Adidas has also been busy with several new shoes. The Adidas Y-3 was recently spotted in a fashion show in Paris. The Yohji Yamamoto footwear featured Futurecraft 4D soles. Futurecraft 4D, a special technology which enhances performance, look and feel of fashion, lifestyle and casual footwear was introduced last April. Shoes with the new technology will make its much awaited debut in retail in December. However, only 5,000 pairs will be released this year, which will then be expanded to 100,000 by 2018.
In the coming weeks, a multicolor version of a perennial Adidas favorite will be released. The Ultraboost has taken the footwear industry by storm. Whether you wear it as casual shoes or use it for a sport, thereâÄôs no denying its appeal and performance. Despite its limited colorway, the Ultraboost has made a killing for Adidas. Hence, thereâÄôs no surprise that they came up with a more colorful version.
The Multicolor Ultraboost 3.0 has a Primeknit upper with a vibrant (imagine a darker shade of rainbow colors) design, complemented by a black side cage system, and of course, the trademark of boost shoesâÄĒa white midsole.
The colorful shoes are expected to be priced at around $200.
Further down the line, a black version of the NMD is scheduled. NMD, one of the most popular models of Adidas, together with Stan Smith and Y3, usually comes in white. But by 2018, the NMD_R1 STLT also known as âÄúTriple BlackâÄĚ will be released. Leaked images of the shoe have already been shown on Instagram. Triple black was shown to have a Primeknit pattern and a boost midsole. And yes, you guessed it, it comes in all black, except for red highlights in the inner collar.
No price was suggested in the leak, but knowing how popular the NMD is, you may have to shell out a lot more than expected.
There you have it, Adidas is basically cooking up a footwear storm starting with the Zissou, so you better get your feet ready!
