Bicycle Types Choose the Right One

If you love riding bikes and want to buy a new bike for yourself, then you need to know the different types of bikes that are available. If you are looking for a bike to ride with a group of friends, then you need to buy one that is similar to those of your friends. If you are on a bike cruiser or a mountain bike, it will be difficult for you to keep up with road bikes. And if you want to ride on the sand, a road bike is definitely not a good choice. So here in this article, different types of bikes are discussed in detail.

1. Mountain bikes
For riding rough off-road trails, mountain bikes are the best. They have handlebars that are upright or flat, and to help you pedalling up steep trails, they have a very low gear range. Almost all mountain bikes possess some sort of suspension or shock absorbers. There are different types of mountain bikes such as full-suspension bikes, rigid and hardtails, depending on the position of the suspension. These bikes are excellent for commuting.

2. Road bikes
Road bikes are made in such a way that you can ride these bikes easily on smooth pavement. These bikes have tires that are skinny and smooth and have âdropâ handlebars, which is perfect for on-road racing. Compared to other types of bicycles, they are lighter. You can ride these bikes on paved trails, but if you want to ride them on unpaved trials, you may find it a bit uncomfortable. There are different types of road bikes such as Cyclocross bicycles, Touring bicycles, Triathlon or Time Trial bicycles, Flat-Bar Road Bicycles and Track/Fixed-Gear bicycles.

3. Hybrid bikes
Hybrid bikes are made to offer the benefits of both mountain bikes and road bikes. To provide you with a comfortable riding position, they have large, padded seats and upright handlebars. If you want to have a bike for casual rides around the neighbourhood, this bike is the right choice. You can ride them comfortably on both paved and unpaved bike trails.

4. Cruiser bikes
Cruiser bikes are quite similar to hybrid bikes, as both these bikes are great for casual riding, have an upright riding position and have a large and comfortable seat. The tyres of these bikes are wide âballoonâ tyres. Compared to hybrid bikes, the handlebars of cruiser bikes are more upright and in some cases, more swept back. In most cruiser bikes, there is single-speed or 3- speed and even the old-fashioned coaster brake. For short-distance commuting, this bike is perfect. There are many bike manufacturers, who make a wide variety of colourful models. If you are partial to a particular colour, then you can choose to buy a bike model in that.

Now that you know all the different types of bikes that are available, it will be easy for you to select the right one for you.
