There may have been many wonderful opportunities knocking on your door, but if procrastinate them you can lose them. There are plenty of famous quotes out there about this issue to motivate people. Yet ironically the majority of people that say they are going to stop procrastinating put it off for another day! Of course you have people who know their procrastinating is a serious issue, but they continue to do it. They always feel that tomorrow they will have time to work on it, but they never make it a priority. It is important to remember one common Law of Attraction - what you give is what you will get. This means if you are someone who procrastinates then others just like you will be around. Yet this doesn't have to be the way things turn out for you at all. You can make a decision to stop procrastinating. You can make a choice to work hard to achieve your goals and to focus on only positive sources of energy. This means even when things don't go the way you wish they would, you find the good in it and you continue to work for your goals. If you are spending your energy though in a negative way and procrastinating you aren't going to be successful. Not all categories of delays turn out to be due to procrastination though so you need to cut yourself some slack. Give the situation an honest evaluation though to determine if it is your fault or something beyond your control. If it is due to yourself then work harder to accomplish your goal of not procrastinating. Reward yourself when you complete projects early or on time. Give yourself small time deadlines for the overall project so you can focus on staying on task and on time for completion. If you don't always succeed though get up and start working at it again immediately. Here is a good example to help you understand how procrastinating can affect your given situation. You may have a nice affair to go to in the evening so you have all of your items laid out and ready to go. You may get dressed though and realize there is stain on your dress. You will have enough time to either remove it or to change into something else. As a result the situation won't be ruining your night out. If you waited until they last minute to get anything ready though that stain can be stressful and cause you to be late. Many individuals who do procrastinate have a hard time asking themselves why. What it comes down to though is fear. They are allowing that type of negative energy to determine what will take place in their life. They may be afraid of being rejected so they don't present an idea at work or make phone calls that could help their career. They are afraid to get their feet wet in the water as they have a fear that they will surely drown if they do. It can be hard to move out of the comfort zone that procrastinating has offered you for so long though. You can do it, but you should be taking one small step at a time. Otherwise you risk becoming overwhelmed. This will result in you slipping back into your old habits even if you don't want to. Do you often feel guilty after you have procrastinated? If so, you aren't alone but the point to focus on is how you are going to successfully change your behaviors. You need to let go of that negative energy and replace it with motivation and inspiration so you can generate positive energy as well. If you are interested in getting past your issues of procrastination here are some great places to start: 1. Writing - If you write down your goals you will be able to visualize them. Place them on the refrigerator, a bulletin board, your bathroom mirror, or any other place where you are sure to see them all the time. 2.Break it down Often we procrastinate starting a task or hesitate setting a goal because it seems so far and unattainable. While keeping your goal in mind, set mini-goals that you would need to achieve along the way in order to achieve your final goal and make up your mind to immediately start towards achieving the first stepping stone. Achieving the first stepping stone will inspire and motivate you to move to the second stepping stone. 3.Just get started Fill yourself with positive energy to achieve the first stepping stone and get started straight away with the simplest and smallest of first steps. When you are procrastinating - simply ask yourself what's the first task? Take action on the smallest incremental item on that task. You'll be amazed at how quickly you will be inspired. 4. It is important to celebrate all of your small successes along the way. Take good care of yourself and pamper yourself. If you work hard then you deserve to have something in return for it. For those that really have a hard time with procrastination, you can attach certain goals to those pieces of the tasks you don't want to do. It will really help you to stay focused on completing it. 5. Forgive yourself and you will be happier. If you make mistakes then accept responsibility for that. Instead of allowing negative energy to take over while you are kicking yourself in the butt for it, learn from it and move on. Stay positive and take a close look at your goals again. You definitely need to be able to stop procrastinating so that the Law of Attraction can work for you.
