The Best Way to Stop Smoking Weed





When it comes to quitting weed, just like anything else in life, people want one thing and one thing only – the best that is available.

Many people have successfully quit smoking weed by simply deciding to give it all up one specific day, which is referred to as quitting “cold turkey” – and to date, it is one of the most popular methods of attempting to quit.

Now, although this is an extremely difficult feat to accomplish (there is a very high chance of relapse), if you firmly believe that you are a strong-willed individual, then without a shadow of a doubt you could very well quit “cold turkey”.

With that being said, the best way to actually go about doing so is to do a minor bit of planning ahead of time, ultimately putting your focus on a few key factors.



Set a Specific Quitting Date

First off, one of the most common things that weed smokers do is get near the end of their current stash, and decide that they are going to quit once it is all smoked up. If you have made this claim in the past, you know that it is very rarely that you even attempt to follow those words – if anything, you may not smoke for a few days at the most.

To actually go about making this idea work, you have to get into specifics rather than just make a decision on a whim.

For those who really want to quit “cold turkey”, the way to do this is to choose an upcoming date in the near future, and preferably one where you know you will still have some weed left.

By setting a specific date – some people even go as far as selecting a certain time of the day as well (of course, the most popular time is 4:20) – you will actually prepare your mind for the start of your quitting process.



Destroy or Give Away All of Your Paraphernalia

If there’s one thing that’s highly responsible for causing an individual to purchase more weed when claiming they want to quit, it’s not disposing of their paraphernalia.

If you have a pipe, bong, papers, etc. around, there’s a very good chance that it’ll subconsciously influence you enough to the point where you feel that you need to smoke.

To begin disposing of your paraphernalia, if you happen to have a pipe, simply give it to one of your friends who smoke. Of course, if it’s a rather good pipe, then outright sell it to them.

If you happen to have a bong that you don’t really want to part with (as is the case with many weed smokers), a rather popular thing to do is: throw your stem and bowl in the garbage, flush the bong itself out with something such as acetone, thoroughly rinse it out with water and then use it as a coin bank.

It’ll most definitely make an interesting conversation piece.



Smoke, Give Away or Dispose of Your Remaining Marijuana

Considering earlier on in this article I mentioned where it is good to plan on quitting while you still have a bit of a weed stash left, either on the actual day or the night before you have chosen to quit is when you should go about disposing of your remaining marijuana.

If you happen to be giving or selling a glass piece to a friend, it is quite easy to simply include your remaining weed in that offer.

Of course, if there’s nothing that you’re going to be parting with, then feel free to smoke your remaining weed – but do so the night before your intended quitting date/time – or dispose of it entirely by flushing it down the toilet.



In the grand scheme of things, if you actually have a solid plan – something that is especially focused on removing any remaining marijuana and paraphernalia from your household – then you increase your chances ten-fold in regards to successfully quitting weed.
