Do you remember how your computer once started very quickly when you first purchased it? And if you've had your computer for several years, you most probably can go and make yourself a cup of coffee, come back, and your computer will still be starting up. It also takes much longer to open any software program and you might even get pauses when doing small things such as copy and pasting. You may even experience frequent error messages or blue screens in the middle of doing something important. If you experience this, then there's a really good chance that your computer has problems with it's registry. You can think of the registry as kind of like the computers "instruction manual", a place where all the processes of the computer and all the software program records get stored. It is also where all of the configurations and settings of your PC get stored. When a computer is brand new, there are only a couple entries in the registry and it was fast to load. After several months or even years, the registry can become extremely large and filled with outdated or garbage information. A registry that is very large and filled with errors can create all kinds of problems for you. The most obvious problem you will encounter is a slower computer. The other thing people experience is frequent screens that tell you that there's a problem with your system and needs to restart. The last problem creates crashes where you computer either just stops or restarts on it's own for no apparent reason. If you leave these problems they can lead to expensive computer repairs in the future. When you realize that most of these problems are occurring due to errors in the Windows registry, it becomes easy to fix, because you know the source of the trouble. This option is much cheaper than taking your computer in to a repair shop where they can charge several hundred dollars to replace components of your system. Cleaning out your registry is as easy as simply downloading any free registry repairing software on the internet. All you need to do is to install the program and click on scan. After several minutes, the software will show you a list of errors that it has found. You are then able to choose which ones you want to delete or keep. It is safe to delete all of them because all registry cleaning software comes with a backup option so you can always restore your registry if there's a problem after wards. There are also paid software programs available. These can be handy because of the customer support you will receive with your purchase, and more than likely, the quality of your software will be greater.
