7 Simple Tips to help you Decorate your Home

Decorating your home is not as difficult as it seems. It can be easy and fun as well. Just follow these 7 simple tips to help you decorate your home.
Good lighting. Good lighting can change how you perceive a room (and your electric bill). A spotlight for reading. A well-placed lamp, which you can purchase at Laura Ashley, LED light, or even candles can literally light up a space.
Restyled bookcase. Bookcases are not just for the library. They have been used in interior décor in the last several years. Why not? They give a room not only storage space but and added charisma when used correctly. You can paint a small bookcase, either the same shade of the color of your room or a contrast. The trick is not to fill it with books. Add an accessoryâa plant, a shell, picture frame, even a snow globe. This breaks the monotony. Also, you donât need to line-up the books. They can be slanted or stacked.
Donât be afraid of contrast. Some people decorate their homes by using same palettes and hues, to play safe. While there is nothing wrong with that, you should not be afraid to add a little contrast to your decorations or accessories. This not only goes for colors but texture. A fiery red plant in a predominantly white room. A Zebra-print rug in a dark room, gives a cool contrast.
Donât forget your bathroom. The bathroom has a potential to be a place to just chill. So donât forget to add some simple décor. Some candles. Decorative rocks, a plant, seashells, bath bombs and even a fresh-looking rug (remember the non-slip bottom). This things will come in handy when youâve had a rough week and you want to relax on the tub.
Donât forget the âfifth wallâ. Did you know that your home has a âfifth wallâ you can decorate? Technically, itâs not a wall because itâs the ceiling. If youâre really adventurous, the ceiling is a great way to showcase your creativity. After all, it worked for the Sistine Chapel, right? If you want to try small, a ânight settingâ for a kidâs bedroom can be fun. Paint the ceiling dark blue, put some silver stars and a strategically placed LED bulb as the moon. So when your kid looks at the ceiling, he or she can pretend to be stargazing. Such a ceiling setup makes your kid appreciate nature more and will make it easy for him or her to fall asleep.
Invest in a great bed. Speaking of the bedroom, a great mattress is a great investment. We may not realize it but we spend a great deal of time in our beds resting, and a good rest is important in our everyday life. So why deny yourself a chance for some quality rest? Throw in some exceptional linens from Laura Ashley to make the experience more incredible.
Kitchen. Why accessorize the messiest room in the house? Well, it bring order to the mess. And makes the kitchen absolutely stunning. Use accessories to organize pots and pans. Example, hanging pans circularly overhead gives that rustic look, especially when your pots and pans are predominantly the same color. If a part of your kitchen is lit by sunlight, place a small potted herb near it. This looks especially great if itâs near the sink.
