The first think that you must do is set Goals that are realistic and not based on fantasy such as earning a thousand pound per day. These goals must be broken down into long term goals say 5 years, medium term say 1 to 2 years and finally short term what you do every week. These short term goals must be clear specific and measurable. Set up a daily planner. Write your goals down and make sure you can see them every day. For example put them on the fridge door so you are reminded of them every time you open the fridge. This will help you to maintain your focus and keep you motivated for the task at hand. You must not give up. You must be patient with yourself. Remember at the beginning you may feel that you are not achieving anything. you will run into problems, challenges and temporary setbacks along the way. Remember you are only training and you will improve. The more you persist the better you will get,and the more likely your goals will be achieved. If you read about people that have been successful in life the reason for their success is that they have failed more than everyone else. One shining example is Winston Churchill. He failed sixth grade. He was subsequently defeated in every election for public office until he became Prime Minister at the age of 62. He later wrote, "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never, Never, Never, Never give up." Feel the fear and do it anyway. In other words you must get out of your comfort zone. You will only self develop when you do something uncomfortable every day. For example writing an Article is a new experience for a lot of people. There is the fear that it will be of a poor standard. Also the fear of it being rejected by the publisher. So what if it is rejected. You must learn from the mistakes you made and if you do, next time it probably will be accepted and you will have made a big step on the road to self development and consequently running a successful business. Patience is required. We live in a society where everything is instant e.g. soup, coffee, the pay cheque every month on the same day. It is very difficult to leave that mentality behind. Running a Business is like running a marathon backwards; you hit the wall early in the race. For example lot of activity and not much monetary gain. The key is to concentrate on the activity and not the monetary gain. People give up when they become disillusioned with the amount of money they are making relative to amount of effort they are putting in. Remember you may have to earn £2 an hour now in order to make £50 an hour in the future. Take responsibility for your life. It is human nature to blame everything else for their failures in life.Don't make excuses. You will not be able to make excuses and money at the same time. To conclude these are some of the ingredients required for a successful Home Based business. Take responsibility for your life, set realistic goals, get out of your comfort zone, and finally don't ever, ever give up.
