And now, finally, you zeroed in on that "perfect" MLM opportunity which you hoped would help you realize some of your most cherished dreams. It's all well and good to dream. And yes, dreams do come true, some or all. It all depends on the dreamer. So how can you ensure that all the good things you wish yourself do not ultimately remain just that-dreams? See Your Dreams As Goals: Your dreams will become more real the moment you begin to view them as series of goals that you've set out to achieve. This often begins with visualizing what your life would be like once these goals are actualized. Your subconscious mind will get fired up the moment you clearly visualize your future status and like the picture you see. It also helps if you have compelling reasons why you just cannot let the dream die. Set Realistic Goals: Having upgraded your dreams into real goals, the goals have to be realistic. The reason most dreams fail is because they are based on goals that are way beyond the resources of the dreamer to implement. Imagine a new network marketer who's just attended a training seminar and listened as veteran marketers discussed how they're earning mega bucks from their business. And, thinking more in terms of income rather than on developing a solid business first, the newbie set for himself the impossible goal of recruiting 250 people in his first month in MLM! He's sure to miss the target. In the end such unrealistic goals are the fuels of discouragement. Break Your Goals Into Smaller Tasks: Now, this is more like a remedy for the mistakes of our hypothetical marketer above. Remember the Chinese proverb: a journey of 1000 kilometers starts with one meter. Truth is that even the loftiest goals can be attained-eventually. They just need to be approached as units of smaller tasks to be performed one at a time. So make a list of all the things you know you'll have to do in order to achieve the goal you've set for yourself. Identify which ones are critical in some ways; those goals the attainment of which will facilitate the achievement of the next goal. Cross out every task (goal) on the list that you've performed. This is a better approach, because rather than serving as sources of discouragement, the attainment of these smaller goals will spur you on to approach the next task on your goal-chart. Surround Yourself With Those Who've Arrived Where You're Going: Enough said. You know your goals. So why move with those who are moving in the opposite direction? A lot better to always be in the company of those from whom you could pick one or two success tips, advice, or even overall mental attitude that will help you stay on course and ultimately arrive your destination. Work Hard At Your Goal: Now, I have to say this with caution. Because there are a lot of folks out there who still believe that the person who works the hardest in their MLM dreams are the ones who turn out to be the most successful. That's a myth. Achieving your MLM goals will depend, not on how hard you work, but on how SMART. In order words, are you doing the right things to help you achieve your goals? Are you getting your priorities right? Are you constantly learning new skills in order to keep improving in all aspects of your business? How are you marketing? These are things more important than working throughout your waking hours. Just remember that well thought-out dreams can point our lives in a sure direction. In terms of achieving your overall goals and your MLM goals in particular, the above points are areas that deserve your attention. You also need to review your goals often so they don't become mere abstract wishes that have no power behind them. If your goals are clear and dear to you, and if you apply the steps above, you are most likely to attain them.
