The Basics of Infertility Treatments

Before you and your partner decide that IVF or another procedure is ideal for you, you may want to learn about all infertility treatments that are on the market nowadays. You and your partner should decide how far you want to get involved as well as how financially committed you want to be. For instance, some are into trying herbal remedies while others are not into having surgery. Drawing a line can help you and your partner stay within your limits. There are some couples that will not go further than their limits.

Fertility treatments are never cheap and the worst part is that you will not find an insurance company to cover any fees. For couples who have a concern with the cost of these treatments, you should begin with learning about what costs you are going to be responsible for as well as what medicines are involved in addition o the procedure or technique itself. You should talk to your partner in regards to learning what you are capable of affording.

Medications

There are some medications that can help improve and help to stimulate ovulation in infertile women such as Clomiphene Citrate which is going to help stimulate hormones and it helps to trigger ovulation. This is most often the initial medication that is given when trying to cure infertility. This is a oral pill as opposed to injections and comes with little to no side effects,

If this is not showing any improvement then hormone shots may be used instead. The name of these shots is gonadotropins. These shots are going to help with stimulating ovaries to help with producing and creating eggs that are healthy.

What Increases Infertility

There are a number of factors that can play into the fertility of a woman as well as the man. Some of these factors include the age of both partners. There are some that you can control such as lifestyle choices including how you eat, smoking, and more. The rate of infertility in people aged 24-24 is a mere 7%. However as you age the rate of infertility gets higher and higher. For example, infertility in rates in those that are 35-39 is 22%. There are also problems that cannot be fixed or controlled such as eggs that are not health and sperm that is at a low count.

Risks That You Can Control

Smoking should be avoided at all costs as this decreases your chances of getting pregnant. If you consume more than 2, or even 4 alcoholic beverages a day, then this can decrease your chances as well of getting pregnant. Smoking weed or doing drugs decreases your chances as well. You should eat a diet that is healthy and loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables. If you exercise at rapid and intense speeds this lowers your fertility levels as well.

By living a healthy lifestyle you can ensure that you are preparing your body and creating a good environment for a baby to grow. If you however are infertile, you may want to talk to your doctor about what options you have.
