Neuro-linguistic programming, in laymans terms depends on the premise that you're what you think. The word "neuro" refers back to the brain, and "linguistic" to whatever content is transferred to it, either through thinking of feeling or even speaking, Add "programming' and it means that what your brain will be programmed by what you think feel or speak. This, in return, can have an effect on your outlook on life and therefore determine your life experience. To place it very simply, what you see, feel or believe is what you get. If you program your mind with positive, affirmative thoughts of growth, success and abundance for example, you'll get just that - you'll end up with experiences that are of growth, that are positive which are abundant. If on the other hand you program your mind with negativity, thoughts of lack and convince yourself that nothing good ever happens to you, thats specifically what you may get. It will not should be life-altering thoughts. It might be just experiences. Take an example. One person grew up in a household where they were told time and again that heights are bad, and that they are visiting fall if they go up there. They will have it programmed in their minds that a height of any kind, even from as low as a chair or a stool may cause them damage and thus avoid any kind of things where they have to be on top of ground level. If a person like this were to take a plane flight to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower, it might likely be a negative experience for them instead of a positive one. But imagine one who as a child most likely grew up in a mountainous place, was inspired to climb trees and whose parents had no restrictions concerning heights. This persons mind is programmed to understand that the heights are safe and fun, and for them, the Eiffel Tower will be a minor task thats full of enjoyment. They could add bungee jumping to the trip too! NLP works to help individuals modify their behavior therefore that they can live higher lives, eliminate fears and achieve more fulfillment from every day living. It works to re-program the mind or ones thinking, therefore that fears and limitations are eliminated rapidly. It operates at 4 basic levels: 1. The person has to know what they need out of the NLP experience. For instance, you have got to know that you would like to prevent feeling that heights are dangerous and eliminate fear when you're above ground level. 2. Once you recognize what you want, you wish to bear in mind enough to understand whether your thoughts are leading you towards or away from your required outcome thus that you can steer them in the correct direction. 3. Once you establish in that approach your thoughts are leading you, you need to be flexible enough to alter them, of course towards the direction of the desired outcome. 4. You have got to take immediate action - for NLP to work, you can't delay action, because then your brain remains in the same negative programming it was in before.
