The Traditional lehengas

Today bridal lehengas are chosen over traditional Banarasi sarees by the Indian brides. Lehenga cholis comprise of a long flowing skirt, a choli or a short blouse and a dupatta. Lehengas are present in different types and designs. The most common varieties include the straight cut and Full flare lehengas. Each variety has a different shape. There is an exclusive variety of lehengas in the online store Mirraw . The half saree lehenga and lehengas with jacket are the latest collection of bridal lehengas.

Full flared

This is the perfect traditional bridal lehenga. Better known as circular lehengas, these full flared bridal lehengas add a voluminous look and are thus made of georgette, net and chiffon fabrics. These fabrics make the fall of the lehenga look great. Women with any body shape can wear it, but brides with round shaped body will look very elegant in this lehenga.

The mermaid lehengas comes with an excellent fit starting from the waist and ending at the knee. After the knee there lies the flare. Brides with athletic body shape are seen to wear this lehenga.

These lehengas create fullness and thus looks very heavy. Various pleats of fabrics are present together at the lower part of this bridal wear that actually creates the fullness. In some lehengas the pleats are of same colours whereas in others they are of contrasting colours. Heavy embellishments make it an ideal bridal wear. Brides with rectangular shaped bodies are seen to wear it during their wedding functions.

Straight cut

If you really want to create a fashion statement on your wedding day, then this is what you need to wear. These lehengas are straight and thus they are without pleats. But to make a bride move comfortably designers provide a side slit inside. Brides with rectangular T shaped body are usually recommended to wear straight cut lehengas.

The lower part of this lehenga has either a single or multiple layers of fabrics layered together. They come in different cuts and patterns. To create too much fullness to their bridal wear, women who have vertical rectangular shaped body wears ruffled lehenga.

Half saree

This lehenga bring the essence of an elegant saree and also add comfort. Most brides are seen to get this customised from a designer or even get hold of a pre stitched one. Women with all body shapes will look perfect in this lehenga. But brides who are very short should select other bridal lehengas.

Select the best fabric

A lehenga is made of rich fabric, most commonly silk along with brocade, magnificent decoration such as mirror work, heavy ornamentation, zari work to name a few. For occasions like weddings, women prefer heavily embroidered bridal lehenga which are made of silk. Matching dupattas made of silk is also preferred by most of the brides. Most brides are seen to wear good quality satin lehengas. The richness of satin adds an excellent shine which makes the lehenga look graceful as well as stylish.
